Position Overview

The Solution Assessment Technical Consultant (SA Technical Consultant) plays a pivotal role in the delivery of high-quality Microsoft Solution Assessments, enabling customers to evaluate their existing IT landscape and build actionable strategies for cloud, security, and AI transformation. This is a hybrid or remote role, with flexibility for regional or global delivery alignment and working hours tailored to customer engagement requirements and supported time zones.

Key Responsibilities

Assessment Delivery

  • Execute end-to-end Solution Assessments across Azure, Security, and Copilot portfolios.
  • Plan, deploy, discover, analyze, and report on technical environments, ensuring quality, accuracy, and completeness of outputs.
  • Manage multiple concurrent assessment engagements within defined timelines, balancing priorities and stakeholder expectations.

Customer Engagement

  • Act as the primary technical point of contact throughout each assessment engagement.
  • Guide customers through deployment, tooling setup, and data collection processes.
  • Advise customers on cloud adoption, modernization, and AI enablement strategies.
  • Deliver executive-level presentations to both technical and business stakeholders.

Technical Execution & Analysis

  • Deploy and troubleshoot assessment tools such as Azure Migrate, DMC, Dr Migrate, Cyber Security Assessment Tool (CSAT), AppCAT, CloudPilot, or equivalent solutions.
  • Perform deep analysis of collected data and translate findings into actionable insights.
  • Generate structured outputs, including executive summaries, findings and risk analysis, and migration or modernization recommendations.

Copilot & AI Enablement

  • Deliver Copilot-related engagements, including Copilot Masterclass workshops.
  • Provide guidance on AI adoption scenarios and business value realization.
  • Leverage AI-assisted tools, automation, and internal knowledge agents to enhance analysis, reporting, and delivery efficiency.

Stakeholder & Cross-Team Coordination

  • Collaborate with Microsoft Account Teams, Specialists, Cloud Solution Architects (CSA), and Partners.
  • Align assessment outcomes with customer business objectives and next-step engagements.
  • Support the handover into post-assessment activities such as proof-of-concepts (POCs), migrations, and partner-driven delivery.

Solution Assessment Process Ownership

  1. Pre-Sales, Kickoff & Scoping: Understand customer business objectives and define the assessment scope.
  2. Discovery & Deployment: Select and deploy appropriate tools to collect environment data.
  3. Analysis & Reporting: Analyze results and develop insights, business cases, and recommendations.
  4. Review & Alignment: Validate outputs internally with Microsoft stakeholders.
  5. Presentation: Deliver findings and recommendations to CXO and technical audiences.
  6. Transition to Next Steps: Support the customer journey into implementation or further engagements.

Required Experience & Skills

Core Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in technical consulting, pre-sales, or solution delivery.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience within the Microsoft ecosystem (as FTE, vendor, or partner).
  • Experience supporting customers in cloud migration, modernization, or security transformation initiatives.

Technical Capabilities

  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (Azure), Microsoft 365, and Security solutions.
  • Experience with migration and assessment tools, including deployment and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of cloud migration and modernization strategies (e.g., rehost, refactor, rearchitect, TCO analysis).
  • Familiarity with security and governance frameworks (e.g., Zero Trust, CIS benchmarks, data security and compliance models).
  • Ability to integrate outputs across cloud, security, and AI solutions and translate complex technical data into actionable business insights.
  • Exposure to Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF), governance workshops, or similar methodologies.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools, Copilot, or automation to enhance technical delivery is highly desirable.

Consulting & Communication Skills

  • Fluency in Japanese (written and spoken) is required, basic English proficiency is sufficient for internal communication with global teams and management.
  • Strong presentation and storytelling abilities, with experience presenting technical findings and business recommendations to senior stakeholders, including CXO level.
  • Ability to communicate complex topics effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Certifications

  • AZ-900: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals
  • SC-900: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals
  • MS-900: Microsoft 365 Fundamentals
  • AI-900 : Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals
  • AB-900 : Copilot and Agent Administration Fundamentals

Additional Qualities

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with high attention to detail.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel for data analysis.
  • Self-driven, proactive, and quality-focused work ethic.
  • Experience with Windows/Linux, networking, or system administration is a plus.
  • Ability to identify and implement opportunities to improve delivery efficiency through automation and best practices.
