Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and excellent analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable: Ensure all invoices received for payment are processed in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. Ensure Ramp Expense management transactions are properly coded and reconciled monthly.
- Reconciliation: Maintain and reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts including benefits, prepaids and accrued expense accounts.
- Month End Closing: Assist with monthly closings by recording accruals and recurring journal entries, review and comment on monthly expense variances.
- Recordkeeping: Ensure payroll changes new hires/terms are documented effectively for review and analysis by payroll team. Monitor accounting inbox and Fresh Service ticketing inbox to manage workflow accordingly.
- Process Improvement: Take initiative and drive process improvements to uplevel efficiency and accuracy within the Finance department. Demonstrate an eagerness to learn.
- Financial Systems: Utilize and maintain accounting software and systems (e.g., ERP systems), ensuring data integrity and effective reporting.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, advanced degree certification is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of accounting experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Microsoft Dynamic SL, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle), Intermediate/advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, SQL Server Management, Power BI, and other financial reporting tools.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of IFRS, financial reporting, tax regulations, internal- controls and intercompany accounting.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data and provide insights that support strategic decision-making.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present financial information to stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: High-level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and analysis.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues, think critically, and propose solutions to improve financial processes.
- Time Management: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
