Position Overview
The Solution Assessment Specialist (vSAS) plays a key role in supporting Microsoft Solution Assessment motions by managing assessment pipeline activities, coordinating customer and stakeholder engagement, and helping drive high-quality execution across Cloud, Security, and AI Business Solutions. This role works closely with Microsoft stakeholders, partners, Solution Assessment Technical Consultants, and regional teams to ensure assessment opportunities are properly qualified, scoped, tracked, and progressed toward successful customer outcomes.
This position is based in Malaysia. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Malaysia, as work visa sponsorship will not be provided for this role. The candidate must be able to speak and write fluently in English, as the role requires regular communication with Microsoft stakeholders, partners, customers, and regional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Assessment Pipeline & Program Coordination
- Manage and track Solution Assessment pipeline activities across assigned markets, ensuring opportunities are updated accurately and progressed within agreed timelines.
- Support qualification and prioritization of Solution Assessment opportunities across Azure, Security, Copilot, and AI Business Solutions portfolios.
- Coordinate with Microsoft Account Teams, Specialists, Cloud Solution Architects, and Partners to align assessment demand, readiness, and execution requirements.
- Monitor assessment progress from opportunity creation through kickoff, delivery, reporting, and post-assessment follow-up.
- Identify risks, blockers, or gaps in the pipeline and proactively escalate or coordinate mitigation actions with the relevant stakeholders.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as a coordination point for assigned Solution Assessment engagements, ensuring stakeholders understand next steps, timelines, and required actions.
- Support customer-facing communication related to assessment readiness, scheduling, scoping, and engagement progress.
- Maintain professional communication with Microsoft stakeholders, partners, and internal delivery teams to ensure strong engagement alignment.
- Help prepare customer and internal updates, including pipeline status, assessment progress, risk summaries, and action follow-ups.
- Ensure accurate handover between pre-sales, delivery, and post-assessment stakeholders to support customer continuity.
Operational Execution & Reporting
- Maintain accurate tracking of assessment status, milestones, ownership, customer readiness, and delivery dependencies.
- Prepare structured reporting and updates for leadership or regional stakeholders, including progress summaries, aging opportunities, risks, and forecast visibility.
- Support regular business reviews, pipeline reviews, readiness calls, and operational cadence meetings.
- Use Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint, to organize, analyze, and present operational data clearly.
- Ensure process adherence, documentation completeness, and timely updates across relevant trackers, dashboards, or systems.
Solution Assessment Portfolio Support
- Support assessment motions across Azure, Security, Copilot, and AI Business Solutions by coordinating the right stakeholders, readiness requirements, and delivery resources.
- Understand Solution Assessment objectives sufficiently to explain value, process flow, and engagement expectations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Partner with Solution Assessment Technical Consultants and delivery teams to ensure engagements are prepared for kickoff and execution.
- Track portfolio-specific requirements, readiness updates, enablement needs, and process changes communicated by Microsoft or program leadership.
- Support adoption of new assessment tools, workflows, templates, or operating models as required.
Cross-Team Coordination & Process Improvement
- Collaborate with regional teams across ASEAN, Japan, ANZ, and other supported markets as required by business needs.
- Help standardize operating processes, communication templates, trackers, and reporting formats to improve consistency and execution quality.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, stakeholder visibility, and pipeline governance.
- Support onboarding, knowledge sharing, and readiness activities for new or transitioning team members.
- Demonstrate accountability, responsiveness, and proactive communication in a fast-paced regional support environment.
Solution Assessment Process Ownership
- Opportunity Review & Qualification: Validate assessment demand, customer context, market alignment, and business priority.
- Scoping & Stakeholder Alignment: Coordinate with Microsoft stakeholders, partners, consultants, and customers to confirm scope, expectations, and timelines.
- Kickoff Readiness: Ensure required engagement details, ownership, scheduling, and prerequisites are aligned before delivery begins.
- Delivery Tracking: Monitor progress, dependencies, blockers, and required follow-up throughout the assessment lifecycle.
- Reporting & Governance: Maintain accurate pipeline updates, leadership summaries, and action tracking.
- Post-Assessment Follow-Up: Support transition to next steps such as partner engagement, proof-of-concept, migration, modernization, or additional Microsoft programs.
Required Experience & Skills
Core Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in program coordination, sales operations, customer success, pre-sales support, partner management, or technical solution coordination.
- Experience working with Microsoft technologies, Microsoft partners, cloud programs, or enterprise technology initiatives is preferred.
- Experience supporting pipeline management, operational reporting, stakeholder coordination, or customer engagement activities.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities while maintaining accuracy, follow-through, and professional communication.
Business & Technical Understanding
- Good understanding of Microsoft cloud solution areas, including Azure, Microsoft 365, Security, Copilot, and AI-related solutions.
- Familiarity with cloud migration, modernization, security assessment, or business value assessment concepts is an advantage.
- Ability to understand assessment workflows and translate requirements into clear actions for stakeholders.
- Strong ability to work with data, trackers, dashboards, and reports to support decision-making and operational visibility.
- Experience using Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams, is required.
Communication & Stakeholder Management Skills
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to coordinate across Microsoft teams, partners, customers, consultants, and regional leadership.
- Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and confidently with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong follow-up discipline, attention to detail, and ability to provide clear status updates and action summaries.
- Ability to manage sensitive or urgent business updates with professionalism and accountability.

- AZ-900: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals
- SC-900: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals
- MS-900: Microsoft 365 Fundamentals
- AI-900: Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals
- PL-900: Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals or equivalent business application knowledge is a plus
